lesson42doodleboy

Update: This Lesson Is Part of Book 3 of Doodles Do Algebra: “The Basic Math of Algebra” available on Amazon.

Worksheet:

Available in the book, “The Basic Math of Algebra, Book 3 of Doodles Do Algebra“

Today DoodleTwo teaches your child how to set up an algebraic subtraction. We start today with terms that cannot be combined (like oranges and pelicans, or m’s and n’s). There is actually no mathematics today, only rewriting statements from a verbal form to an algebraic form.

Answers:

Problem 1. c-d

Problem 2. 5b-3c

Problem 3. ab-cd

Problem 4. x^2-x

Problem 5. ax-xa = 0 (since ax is the same as xa, you can point out to your child that 2*3 is the same as 3*2, they both are 6 so ax is the same as xa)
