Update: This Lesson Is Part of Book 3 of Doodles Do Algebra: “The Basic Math of Algebra” available on Amazon.

Worksheet:

Available in the book, “The Basic Math of Algebra, Book 3 of Doodles Do Algebra“

Today we practice the division started last lesson. We are still putting it in terms of how often is X contained in X to drive the division idea home in your child’s mind.

Answers:

1. 5a^2 (because 10/2=5 and a^3/a=a^2, you can also write thi a*a*a/a*a and show that two of the a’s cancel since a/a=1 just like 2/2=1)

2. 4ab (because 12/3 =4 and a^3/a^2=a and b/1=b)

3. 3a^2bc (same process as described for the last two questions – if you have questions, just leave them in the comments below.)

4. 3a^3b
